About the project

NURS-DIAL is the official international project website for a multicentre study focused on assessing digital literacy and artificial intelligence competencies among nursing students. The project addresses the growing importance of digital health, data-driven care, and AI-supported decision-making in nursing education and clinical practice.

As healthcare systems increasingly integrate digital platforms, intelligent tools, and AI-assisted workflows, nursing students need strong foundational competencies in digital literacy, critical evaluation of technology, and safe, responsible use of AI in care settings. These skills are important for patient safety, care quality, communication, and readiness for technology-enabled healthcare environments.

NURS-DIAL brings together participating institutions from different educational and cultural contexts to measure baseline competencies internationally. The project aims to support evidence-based curriculum improvement, identify educational gaps, and contribute to the development of more consistent approaches to digital and AI literacy in nursing education.
